Based on ideas from Sweet Rivers for orchestra and the original Southern Harmony hymn, this setting begins with the hymn in solfège for one verse, and then transitions to the original setting which makes use of gentle glissandi in the upper voices, and concludes with the text “…and leave the world behind” being sung in a free canon that evaporates into nothingness.
